Alright, so about two days ago I started reformatting my Gateway MT3418 notebook, in the midst of doing updates and installing programs I noticed that sometimes when I would reboot the machine, it wouldn't load any any screens. The power would be on, but no text on the screen or beeps from the machine... just a few clicks from the CD drive. A simple power off/on would get to work again, but then late last night it did it again, but refused to come back to life. The notebook is a month off of warranty so I can't simply send it in anymore and they no longer make the mobo for it. I'm almost certain it was the mobo... up until i just made a reaching effort about twenty minutes ago and hit the power button, only to find it boot up like nothing happened.
Any thoughts about this? Does anyone think it might be something else other than the mobo? I'm stumped.
I'm afraid to power it back off now too.
