can't sleep, decided to look at computer stats with AIDA32 and i was looking at the voltage and such and i noticed that the -12v section was reading -7.18v and the -5v was reading +.43v. is there somthing wrong here? i had this thing over clocked awhile ago but it crashed once, idk if that was from the OC or it just got locked up. but i changed EVERYTHING back to normal by reseting the bios...anyway somone help!
 
sofware is never right, you have to measure the voltages with a multimeter strait from the mobo connector.
 
the negative rails are no longer really employed
(unless you have a very old school serial port PCI card)
and without a draw on them they become wild
you can safely ignore them, they generally have a capacity of a single amp

-12 V: This voltage is used on some types of serial port circuits, whose amplifier circuits require both -12V and +12V. It is not needed on some newer systems, and even on older ones not very much is used, because the serial ports require little power. Most power supplies provide it for compatibility with older hardware, but usually with a current limit of less than 1 A.

--5 V: A now archaic voltage, -5 V was used on some of the earliest PCs for floppy controllers and other circuits used by ISA bus cards. It is usually provided, in small quantity (generally less than 1A), for compatibility with older hardware. Some form factor power supplies such as the SFX no longer bother to supply it (systems using the SFX power supply are intended not to have ISA bus slots).

the -5V rail has been removed from the ATX12V spec altogether as of version 2.0
