I had my rig running at 2700mhz stock voltage and i took it off at the beginning of summer because it was getting too hot (socal). I installed a watercooling system about a month or two ago and my load temps with the same overclock are 38c but prime fails on core 1 in 3 mins...

is it just the summer heat even with watecooling?

What kind of voltages are you running? If your temps are lower you shouldn't get a crappier overclock.

when i was on air, i was about 33c (overclocked) and about 44 load with the zalman 9500. THe ambient temps were high 60s then.

Now, my ambient temps are about 80-85 and im idling 344and loading 40 overclocked and alittle less non overlcocked

BTW, i RMAed my motherboard if that makes a difference.

summer time, higher ambients? Maybe just in that room or corner of room?

Have you dusted your case? Dust builds up on HSF, fans, etc... and makes things run hotter?

Combination?

i just wasnt sure if the ambient temps would really hinder overclocks with water

A 5C increase in ambient temps (for example) will give you a 5C rise in all temps.
This can make a big difference.

hehe me too.
Even with heating on and a decent room temp the floor temps are much lower :)
