For well over a year or so now I have heard about Unreal Engine 3 this and Unreal Engine 3 that. Unreal Engine 3 is the best ever, Unreal Engine 3 screenshots out the whazoo, UE3, UE3, UE3.

Will there actually be any games that use this engine within the next decade or is this just something for Epic to brag about? I have stopped reading most gaming news related to UE3 cause as far as I am concerned it will come out the same time as Duke Nukem Forever.

I hate to break it to you, but it actually takes quite a while to make a game.

I wouldn't be holding your breath, I mean Epic did say it'd be 2006 before any good games were available using the engine when they were launching it...

A MMORPG Is in the works using hte engine apparently.

Epic said the first game to come out (there own) will be available by early o6

Gears of War is supposed to be this game? It seems like I have been hearing about UE3 for years now. The length of development is getting rediculous for games now. It seems as though the average of at least 3 years with 5 becoming commonplace now.

Microsoft's licensed Unreal Engine 3 for its internal Xbox360 development studios.

Three or four companies in the past two to three days have licensed UE3 (check 1up for more.)

The engine is going to be about as widespread as the Quake II engine, at this rate.

Ugh 1UP. I was so not impressed with their wesbite the last time I visited last year but will check them out again.

You don't have to like 1up--I don't--but they've had good reporting on UE3 licensing. All it requires is a simple search for the right term, and you don't have to go back.
