I get that after a few minutes of UNreal.... any clues?... I've got a pretty overclocked system, but don't have any problems with other games... not even doom 3... hrmm.....

any clues?

Try reinstalling DirectX, Drivers, patches, etc....

Does Unreal crash even without overclocking?

I have a similar problem, haven't gotten around to it yet but maybe try uninstalling it and deleting all of it's files then reinstalling (painful I know, damn 6 gb of space  ) I read somewhere on the unreal forums it said to do that

i just had the same problem no oc though lol i had to re config direct x and uninstall  I saved my saved games though and maps. :D

It could be a thermal issue; Unreal can stress systems pretty well.

Alternatively, have you tried playing WITHOUT the patch? Some people seem to think it may be patch related...

well, reinstalled game, not fixed, reinstalled dx, not fixed, removed oced/checked cooling, not fixed, hmmm must be the game???

Which patch are you using? I think it was the first patch that caused GPF's out the ass for me and MANY others. I don't know about the newest patch though, I'll probably install it in a couple days, after I'm sure it isn't causing any problems.

run doom3.. if its stable its not overclocking... lol its probably windows being a grade A ass

How about bumping hardware acceleration back a notch, from run type DXDIAG this might help! :)

Some other things to check...
Does your PSU has enough amps on all of its lines?
CPU and video card temps?
Have you run any sort of memory test?

I had a similar problem a few months ago; UT2k4 would randomly crash or lock up on me, but *only* in MP! I could loop single player games for days on end.

I never did solve it because I ended up building a new rig...

I'm almost positive it was the patch then Twinkie. The GPF's that happened with the first patch only happened in multiplayer, and I'm willing to bet you were probably playing Onslaught right? I never got one in Singleplayer, but if I played a gametype with vehicles (including my beloved mod Carball) then I'd get quite a few of them.

it happened to me because I was too unstable, I dunno. try it on another computer to make sure it aint your copy, but it sounds like a DMA problem

Put memory settings at SPD... test... same thing for cpu... test... then video card... test... Eventually it'll probably be your OC because back when i had it cranked more it was about 98% stable and ut2k4 was one of the games that "randomly" crashed but no more since i cranked it down a bit a few months back.

I'm wondering about your memory. When memory gets just barely past the limit, it can do some odd things and wait a long time to do it too. With my current memory, if I tried it at it's rated speed (DDR400, 2-2-2-6) then after as much as an hour and 10 minutes, prime95 would eventually run into an error. In my case, it's crappy memory, but, in your case it could be that you just plain have it oced too much or the timings too tight. I don't suggest memtest because it doesn't stress the system itself enough, so temps might not go up enough. Besides, Prime95 will give you an error whether or not it's the memory or another component.

I'm running the newest patch, and I still get the random crash... I'm going to post my FULL overclock info in a bit.

I just got back online from hurricane Charley, the #%*)@ turned off my power. There are a hell'uv'a lot more still without it, I'm glad I got mine back already.!

I'll post the OC info tomarrow

I see "alloc" in the GPF a lot. It's most likely RAM related. Perhaps your RAM is overheating/undervolted/unstable.

the only reason it is crashing with the patch is the patch makes the game crash when playing Onslaught
