Unplugging Evga 680i Motherboard

Would umplugging the 24pin and 8 pin connectors cause a this board to die ? The reason I ask this is because the last time I unplugged them in order to do some wire management, I ended up getting the "--" double dash post code after 15- 20min of use, luckily I revieved an rma shortly after. I did not however clear the cmos before unplugging anything. Can anyone give some insight in to the matter ?
 
also depends on how brute the force was when you plugged the out, the board can bend, some users even forget there a clip on the connector they have to push in before pulling it out....

Bu tif you unplugged it with the power cord unplugged then it can only be dead due too much force being applied....
 
There is always the chance that you could have had static charge built up enough in you that if you touched the board it could have shorted something.

Granted thats rare but is has happened.
