I inadvertantly marked my data drive (d:) as active and would like to unmark it. All my system files are on drive c:

How do I unmark a hardrive as active??

Using vista x64 ultimate.

Should be able to open disk management and right click on your old drive and mark it as active. Start Menu->Control Panel->Administrator Tools->Computer Management then find the module in the list and click on that and find your old drive and right click and mark it as active. Should do it.

My old drive never became unactive - both C and D drive are Active. I want only C to be active.

If by active you mean have a boot flag, then fireup linux and fdisk, toggle the bootable flag.
