unlocking my 1800+ question

not sure this belongs here or the amd cpu forum... anyway, i have a extra 1800+ i just recently got into this so i'm new but have some exp. by reading the instructions by some sites. ok my main question is their anyway to bypass using defogger repair kit? and if you got aim and can help me i would be forever greatful. BOBXLLL is my aim name.

I used a sharp pencil on my 1ghz Thunderbird :) Dunno if it'll work on XPs though, and I wouldn't even suggest trying it unless you have a fine point lead pencil and a steady hand. When I go to unlock my 2100+, I won't be using a pencil. Why not use a defogger kit though?

Well first off, do you know if the cpu is locked already? Some are some aren't.

Read the OPN and find the date code, here is a pic to help:

The circled part is the date code, if yours is before "0339" then your cpu is already unlocked.

Depending on the datecode you have, you will need to find a "how to" for the appropriate date code...
