Unlocking Multi (please help)

I am trying to use ClockGen for the multiplier beings that my mobo is locked and I dont want to use a pencil to unlock it just yet (if thats what I have to do) Everytime I try to set it to 10 the damn computer freezes! so I have to do a hard reboot etc. What's going on? and how can I run a 10 or less multi w/a 3400+(CH) (mobo's K8V-SE Deluxe, if needed)

I am using Kingston PC3200 Value RAM (3.0-3-3-3-9) I'm @ 2.5GHz right now and am wanting to go higher however I am hesitant due to the pci lock/RAM (not very smart on the relation with fsb for the pci) It is set at 64 though. I have a gig of Ballistixs PC4000 and regular Crucial PC3200. I have tried both the Ballistix and reg Crucial but seem to have more performance with the Kingston believe it or not. I dont understand this, maybe its the relaxed timmings on the Kingston allowing me to overclock higher. However I thought pc4000 would give me some head room to OC higher with. With all this do you have any suggestions?

Thats odd because folks with the same cpu are hitting way higher. Now could it be one of those things where some cpu's even of the same part number (make and model) vary on overclockability?


Anyone else, you guy's must know or can offer something about my prob. This is very frusterating.
