From previous threads the error can have many sources.

  • Your CPU may need more voltage to run stable, even at stock clocks, when unlocked so you may need to raise it more.
  • Your CPU may not be stable unlocked at all
  • What is your HT multiplier at? Try and keep the final clock at 2000 Mhz or below and/or raise HT voltage if you have separate control for it.
  • Some people solved this problem with a BIOS update.

.......did you buy hoping to unlocK?

unless your issue is not enough voltage, chances are its a truely bad chip...

i didnt buy it hoping for unlock, got it used and the guy said that it unlocked with no problems, hard to believe. Just want to know why the error comes up when i have tried upping the cpu voltage, tried upping the NB, lowered the CPU Speed down to 1.8ghz, and ive tried getting other bios, but cant find a place to download them. Stupid MSI live update thing has hindered everyone from doing that. If someone has a older bios that has unlocked this chip with no problems then please send to me. Thanks

generally happens when something doesn't have enough voltage. though i've seen this error more often with the 45nm chips. usually its a machine exception error with the AM2+/AM2 and older chips.

but if im not mistaken the 45nm x2 5000+ can only unlock the L3 cache they dont actually have 2 disabled cores on it. but then again i could be wrong. but make sure its the 45nm version because if its the 65nm brisbane 5000+ you got screwed.

Its the 45 version stock at 2.2. I've seen plenty of people do it but never have this error. O well. Still a good chip for 30$ as it runs crysis pretty well.
