Unlock Gigabyte 280x

Don't buy they pos. I have 2 of them and I'm dumping them. Don't say I didn't warn you.
 
well i have 2 of them as well, bought them because they were said to be voltage unlocked in reviews but its not... so i'm trying to figure out how to unlock the voltage or i might get rid of them as well
 
Yeah they lied. I'm pretty pissed off they pulled a bait and switch. The only thing you can do is mod the bios for lower voltage. Id sell them for a profit. You can get $400-450 a piece for them right now.

You can only unlock voltage by re-flashing the bios. I have done it with all of my 280x windofrces and they are now running 1.075 volts instead of the 1.2.

I too have it, what BIOS did you use?
 
I pulled the bios directly off the card using GPU-Z, that way it is the same one and I have orginal backup (incase something goes wrong) Make sure you have it in bios position 1 and pull that bios when you do it. Then you can edit the bios and re-load it using atiflash.exe via a win 98 bootable USB.
