Unknown icons

I'm working on a friends computer and her My Computer, My Network Places and Recycle Bin has that unknown file icon (white with the windows logo in it). Anyone know how to fix this or why its doing it?

- windows 2000
- no viruses
- all windows updates

Right click on the open desktop to bring up the "Display Properties"

Click the fouth tab, "Effects," then click the fscked icon, and click "default icon"

ok for my computer and my network places it worked, but the recyling bin is still the same, what gives :mad:
 
OK i figureed it out. I had to change it to another icon then back to default. thanks for all the help :D
