I built a new system, but i'm using a shitty 1280x1024 hand-me-down monitor.
So I don't know what my minimum FPS will be with a 1080, thus choosing a monitor is stressing me out.

Should I even consider 60hz for my system?
And is 144hz too high? It seems like 120hz isn't even a choice anymore, it's not sold on new-egg.

I think I decided on either 24" or 27" TN panel. But refresh rate and resolution are up for debate. Point me in the right direction, please!

Choices :

1080 vs 1440p
60hz vs 120hz vs 144

System :

Intel i5 4690k
Nitro 390
16gb ddr3

Honestly it comes down to preference. What do you prefer? 1080p is a big step up for you, so why not get a 1080p 120hz monitor?

I have a BenQ XL2720Z 144hz 27" TN with blur reduction just sitting in its box I could sell. I used it for about a year and recently got a different monitor.

I used 1080 for years, until my monitor died last month. So i've goten used to 1080. But i'm wondering if my system can push out enough frames on 1440p.

Unless you live in canada, I don't think that would be feasible. Shipping would be too costly.
