It's starting to cramp up with the number of remote controls for me... and there will 2 more coming in from the 3 I already have. I just wannt bag them all and have just 1.

Not looking for anything expensive either, because come on it's just a remote control. There is quite a good supply and cheap pricing for the Logitech Harmony 555 or 525 at the moment.

I checked Logitech website about this product, but it doesn't show much information as to what devices it supports.

Most importantly... Windows MCE support, be it XP or Vista. And also that it won't do my Xbox and HTPC simltaneously, like they are both receiving the same signal.

If you have any experience on those 2 remote controls please let me know how it is working for you...

Logitech controls everything..... X360 and Media Center in the same room, no problem.... There is a setting to be set on the X360, I believe.

Go Logitech.

Check out the MX500. I like it a lot more than the harmony remotes. It isn't trivially easy to program (but not exactly difficult) and it has a great deal less girlfriend acceptance factor, but the ergonomics can't be beat. I'm on my third mx500 in 7 years. Not that they've ever broken, they just get dirty after a couple of years.

URC HOme theater Master remotes will last for 7 years easily under abuse, but im afraid it will control your 360 and your mce at the same time, not sure of anyway to seperate them if they both use the same IR commands.

You can set the 360 to accept either both 360 and MCE remote input or just the 360 remote input in the options. The remote codes are different.

I have just purchased the Harmony 880 and i am very satisfied with it. I would highly recommend it.

it controls things i never though it could, the list is endless. If you google harmony 880 refurbished, the amazon site should come up with a price tag of 99$ with a warranty. You can't beat that.

How do you do that on the Xbox 360 ? Or is it somewhere set on the 360-remote ? Because I really don't mind having 2 remote controls, but no more than that. If there is a way to set the Xbox 360 remote to be used on an MCE and Xbox 360 but not controlling simultaneously, then that would be great !

Is there a special IR receiver for the PC so I can use the 360's remote control on it ?

It's in the console options, look around. You can set the 360 to accept either:

1) 360 remote input only
2) 360 and MCE remote input

As far as I know, there's no way to use the 360 remote for MCE. Well I suppose you could setup girder, lirc, etc, but it wouldn't work natively.
