Universal Molex Pin Remover neccary?

im buying new sleeving and heatshrinks for the cables in my rig, i was woundering if an Universal Molex Pin Remover ($9.99) was really neccary for putting on the sleeves and heatshrinks
 
The regular molex connectors are easy enough to do with a samll screwdriver and possible the floppy connectors but the ATX connector and 12V connector and the aux connectors are a bitch to get off
 
You can persuade the pins out without the tool, but it makes things much easier. Whether it worth the price depends on your patience.
 
these are the sleeves and heatshrinks im getting. i see that people that have brought this kit have also brought the removing tool so i was wondering. guess im going to have to order the remover too:( . what about the floppy connecters?
 
when i sleeved my shuttle power supply i used a dental tool for the floppy connectors, a silver molex removal tool that i got from radio shack for the female molexs, and a black molex tool from nwca.com for the male molexs. For some reason, the molex tool i bought from radio shack didn't work very well on the male molexs. The only way i could get the atx power connectors to come off was to use the special atx pin removal tool. I could not get those pins out with anything else for the life of me.
 
'Floppy connectors' (baby molex) pins can be taken apart using standard push-pins. If you don't have at least 50 laying around your house you have to be crazy :p But those big molexes... loads of work goes into taking those things off without the special tool, though I've never tried with a special tool :p

i think he's talking about 50 push-pins. ;)
 
LOL...im dumb, can someone show me how to get remove atx connecters without a special removing tool?
 
Look at the side with the wires coming out of it. If you have good eyes, you'll see metal at the bottom of the small square wells. These metal pieces should have two 'flaps' each. bend these in with something long and thin. I usually use a #4 scalpel (the hook-nosed kind).
