Unison among Core Temp...

Hey guys, how unison is your temp across all the four cores of your CPU? My 2600K has the temp to be the same across the 4 cores on idle. When underloaded, they then they start having different temp as each core may be stressed a little less or more. I know in the past CPUs I've encountered, some CPUs may have a temp of up to 10 degrees difference from one core to the next even in idle. When stressed, they vary even more. Just wondering if the 2nd Gen processors act differently then previous CPUs.

On my i7 920 they are all within 5 degrees of each other but not usually the same temp.

Most people know that the sensors that Intel uses are cheap and not 100% accurate temperature monitoring devices. They were only designed to control thermal throttling and thermal shutdown so they don't have to be perfect at idle and they are not. Sometimes you get lucky and they all line up on the same CPU and other times there is some random variation from core to core. It's nothing to be concerned about.

My second 2600K also has unison temp at idle. Underload is a completely different story.

Almost everyone is reporting a pretty big split between core temps with the SB chips, sometimes as high as 10C.

My core one is usually about 5c cooler than the rest, and they vary quite a bit under load, up to about 57c.

I still remember the notorious E8400 used to be like 15 degrees different in between the two cores...so bad that I actually tried to return one, but was turned down by the store manager and I remember making a fuss out of it, too.
