So I dont like vista. The way to change operating systems is to reformat the hard drive then install XP right?

I have never run Vista but I dont see why XP would be any different to install so just pop in the disc reboot, book from cd, and in the install program format and install xp.

Anytime you downgrade or go backwards in the OS levels, it is better to wipe the drive clean and start over. Quite a few people have reported issues trying to install XP onto a drive previously formatted with Vista.

I didn't have any trouble though there was a sing of Vista. I have to use the D partition, where I save all my stuff, as C and vice versa.

Well, I then messed up a file in the windows folder and re-installed Vista and it had traces of XP...So if you can delete entire drive though I've had no "real" trouble.

I had to change some settings int he BIOS- bc it wasnt recognizing my Hard Drive.

XP usually would need the F6 drivers loaded if the SATA controller is set to AHCI.
