uninstalling software

I am trying to uninstall avast anti-virus. When i go to change unistall i get an error message (setiface error occured 536870929) and it will not uninstall, is there any other
way i can remove the program?

Avast does provide a removal tool for their anti-virus on their website.

Last resort... Delete the files manually, go in regedit, delete the uninstall data, remove it from start menu, and use msconfig/hijack program to delete it from starting up.

Or just use revo uninstaller and run the advanced uninstall. The best part is, even if the uninstaller is broken and fails, revo will continue it's part and find all registry entries, files and folders, then delete them.

thanks for the help, got thier uninstall and had to uninstall in safe mode.
