Uninstalling Google update service

Does anyone know how to uninstall this service?!
It's not in add/remove and Revo doesn't spot it. This is rather annoying.
Searched the web for solutions - none found.
 
First, open up Task Manager and end the Google Updater process. Then go to C:\Documents and Settings\[USER NAME]\Local Settings\Application Data and delete the Google folder (I'd be careful here; if you have other Google Apps, they may reside in this folder. If this is the case, open the folder and just delete the Chrome folder). After that run CCleaner and clean out the registry of any keys related to the updater. Alternately, you can delete the keys manually by using regedit.
 
Nope. Naughty Google. It just sits there regardless of whether or not you've any Google SW installed or not... WHY?!
