Ive been having this issue since about Feb or March. Whenever I uninstall AMD drivers as soon as it gets too display driver screen goes black like it should be it never goes back to normal. And I have to reset rig to continue uninstall process. Its kinda annoying and Im not sure whats causing it, any ideas guys?

Hmm, so Im not the only one. I thought this RMAed card of mine is the problem but looks like its not. I also thought it was just a bug with catalyst drivers, but thing is its been happening with every catalyst driver since feb.
Ohh well, it works its just annoying.

So... why are you uninstalling?

Installing newer over older drivers has been pretty much problem free for a couple years now. No reason to uninstall unless you're going to Nivida.

I dunno. I guess im old school. I always uninstall and then driver sweep in safemode and then I install new drivers.

Hmm just uinstalled the june 12th 12.7s and the issue seems to be resolved.
Musta been a driver glitch. Weird that it lasted for 5 months though.

Its a waste of time for nvidia now as well unless there's a problem, there's even a clean install option in the nvidia installer when updating. Really just no need unless you're updating because theres a driver related problem.

There are MANY differences in the registry entries bewtween the realeases.

If you play with the betas and dont run a sweeper of some form (driversweeper/atiman) you are asking for trouble as the betas dont have completed uninstallers.

Never run a sweeper in like 2, 3 years, played with tons of betas, zero issues. Of course, I pretty much never have Crossfire problems either. Just lucky I guess?

I think the only time i had to use driver sweeper was when I ever changed teams. I had a hell of a time getting rid all the AMD files when I went from my 6970s to my 680.
