I was wondering if underclocking my Ati card could cause any damage to it, or make my system unstable, is an ATi X1900XT 512MB from Sapphire.

I know, why? I want to underclock it so I can use lower fan speeds and thus lower noise levels, for downloading overnight ofcourse. :)

it's ok

but dont make it TOO low.. my old 9800pro crashed at 21Mhz on the memory when atitool bugged when trying to find max mem :)

Why don't you just change the fan's speed?
ATitool.

Well then it would heat up, and if you had read my post you would know that I am also doing that, because thats whats causing most, if not all of the noise. ATitools is great though.

Thanks for all your replies.
