just need some ideas. Must have......

1900x1200, but also display true 1080p without stretching
I play FPS, so fast respawnc. I had a 3007wfp. I thought that was fine. so anything faster than that
HDMI would be nice.
largest I can get. 24 at least. would deffinatley like a 25.5, or 26. Maybe 27. if the quality is still good at that large 1900x1200.

I somewhat new what was what back when I bought my last monitor. I just feel a little out the loop. What the latest and greatest?

You most likely aren't gonna find anything better than what you already have at $350. At that price range...you're mainly looking at TN panels, which you may or may not care about, but considering your 3007 is an IPS, that's a huge difference.

2407wfp?
Just picked up two of these for around 200$ each.

You could also probably go for a 28" ViewSonic or HannsG for around 300-350$ on ebay.

I'd stay away from the Hanns-G models. Very poor interms of color quality and the large size just doesn't make up for it. Go with an Asus 25.5inch or the 24" instead.

You're stuck with TN at that price range and size. Just go for a monitor with the lowest input lag. Benq is pretty good for the 'fast tn' 24" range.

You can about get a Dell 2408wfp for just a little more than $350 if you're wanting something that compares in IQ to the 3007wfp you had. It's input lag is just a little higher at 33ms average compared to the 3007wfp-hc which I believe is around 28ms average. I don't think the input lag difference between the two will be noticeable but if you're wanting a 24" or larger you'll have to go with a TN panel if you want one with less input lag than the 3007wfp you had.

Get the Dell 2408wfp for about $ 412.00 with FS, and you will probably be able to find a 10% off coupon that will not work automated, thus down to $ 371.00, but if you call, an agent will apply, if the agent cannot or refuses ask for a supervisor. It usually works.

Sorry to derail the thread! I'm in the same boat - is the 2407 good? My 19" Viewsonic from 2004 is starting to let me down, and I found a 2407 on Craigslist for, yep you guess it, $200. Should I go for it, or should I get the 27.5" screen posted earlier? I do web / graphics design mainly, but do game (Armed Assault, Planetside).

I don't really pay attention to input lag ratings anymore. I notice less ghosting on my 3007WFP-HC than I do on my old monitor, a Samsung 220WM rated at 5ms. The Dell is 8ms. Go figure. Maybe because the two are entirely different panel types.

I'd also recommend the Dell 2408WFP. With a coupon you can probably get it very close to your budget.

purchased the hannsg 28 inch for 299 shipped then purchased a better dvi-hdmi than i knew would be shipped with monitor (twice the thickness and gold plated) noticed a better picture after installing the better cable and played wtih settings for about 20 min :)
ZERO dead pixels have noticed ZERO ghosting in COD WaW and Lotro :) cant say that im not happy with my purchase :) came from a 22 inch samsung panel to this beast
