Unable to renew IP

I was attempting to change the IP of my Netgear RP614, so I used CMD to "ipconfig/release" and then "IPConfig/renew". It allowed me to release, but it doesnt allow me to renew! Every time I attempt to, it claims it's timed out trying to connect to the DHCP server and that the media isnt connected. What gives?

If he's trying to use DHCP and he can't renew, then he doesn't have an IP yet so he can't ping anything.

1) Power cycle your router and see if that hopefully resets the DHCP server. Check all your cables while you're there. Never know when mom/roomate/maid was cleaning and decided all those wires looked messy.

2) If that doesn't work set your workstation to a static IP in the same subnet as your router was and then try accessing its configuration pages.
