Um what is wrong with my OC

so i overclock my VGA Silenced 9800 Pro to 440/700 and my 3dmark score plummets. I get no errors or artifacts in w1zzards tool. I put the card back at stock settings and my benchmark goes up 500 back to its normal benchmark.

fps in games increases
fps in ati increase
fps and benchmark in 3dmark2k3 GREATLY decreases

this makes no sense to me.

I've had experiences before where overclocking too much has caused bad performance. This includes with cpu, ram & vid cards. If your games are faster I wouldn't let it bother you one bit.
