i've got about $800 to spend on a laptop. (used or new is not an issue)

I don't want a laptop that weights more than 3 lbs.

what are my options?

cheers!

$800 is way to low.

i don't think they even come that cheap.

lightest thing you can get for that money is a ppc.

wow good luck on that one.. wish i could help, better start saving....

I guess I should have stated that used is fine as well.

I've seen Actius mm20s going for $700, and Portege 2010 for $750.

I'll edit the OP.

keep checkin on dell coupon.. you might get 700m for good price.. dont' think it's gonna be below 800 though

Given your price range, I'd say your best option is to buy a used ultralight computer and remove the hard drive and battery. :D That should get you under three pounds.

You sure you don't mean 3 kilos? (~6.6 pounds?) That gives you a lot of leeway. You can even have a hard drive, processor, battery, and probably a discrete graphics solution in a computer that weighs that much!

Seriously, the only notebooks I know of under 3 pounds are really pricey. (Panasonic Toughbook eLite)
