Hi,
I'm building a dual socket system right now on an ASUS Z8PE-D18. I'm using 2 Ultra-120 rev C for cooling (overkill but I don't trust anyone else's products). My query is that the Thermalright's come with a socket 1366 backplate but the ASUS mobo also has a backplate which is preventing the Thermalright screws from penetrating through as far as the Thermalright backplate.
Therefore, I am planning not to use the Thermalright plate. My query is....is that a mistake?
Regards,
Dave
