How much better is this card?

Is it worth just getting a 9800np instead?


I refuse to buy OEM. OEM is pure snake oil.
 
Is the Ultimate 9600XT the one with 256MB of RAM? If so, not really worth it to me, I'd go for the 9800. It beats out the 9600XT in performance.
 
agreed...if you're going to spend that much on a card that the only difference is the cooler, you may as well shell out the extra 50-60$ and get the 9800pro.

and OEM isn't snake oil, it's the same product without the pretty box and bloatware they package with it. But hey, it's your money and if you have extra to waste on something you will probably never play/use then you may as well get the 9800xt and not ask any questions.
 
Well if you want silence then this card will suit you well, if you want better performance the 9800 is definatly the better buy.

I myself have run into a few problems over the years buying OEM cards. Recently back in the 8500 days OEM versions were usually clocked slower and had crap RAM not to mention a lesser warranty. I usually like buying retail just for the extra piece of mind it affords.
