Hey guys I have a slight problem that I hope one of you can help me fix :( . The problem is that this morning when I got home from work I hopped on Firefox and everything was normal, but all of a sudden after about an hour or so my connection died.. so naturally I checked my modem to make shure it didnt drop the connection or get unplugged, but everything was fine.

So after about 2 hours of screaming, yelling and checking all of my cables I decided to try my second gigabit port on my Mobo. When I did all of a sudden my internet works and everything is back to normal.

I was wondering if maybe my first port was working and I reconnected it, just to run into the same problem as before... Now im forced to use the second port. Do any of you networking gurus have any clue what might be going on??? Is it possible that my first port died?

can you connect the cable to the first port, run "ipconfig /all" and then connect it to the second port and run "inconfig /all" and post both outputs here?

When plugged into the problem port, do you get any link lights? Does everything look right in the device manager? Have you tried reinstalling the nic driver?
