I've got an Opteron 170, I had it running at 2.5 ghz stock voltage, okay load temps. Running two instances of F@H, one on each core.

I checked the logs, and after a time, I noticed I had a periodic early unit end. So, I reset my BIOS, no more OC. Now, I'm getting Early Unit Ends on almost all WU, even though it's stock? I ran Prime for 6 hours, no errors. Ran FS2004 for 64 hours straight, no issues at all (except waking up to having 54c CPU temp because... Well, two video cards + stock cooler on the 170... Yeah, I'm going to go to watercooling soon). I ran Memtest for 7 hours, no problems. I ran Prime, Memtest, and FS2004 for 24 hours at the same time, holy low framerates batman, but no errors, no crashes, nothing.

So, what's the deal? Should I delete the WU and cores, or what?

Um, yeah. sounds good to me. Have the system redownload the core and WU. See what happens.
 
what WU's are early ending? Looks like the series 23xx is making a mess all over.

That is true, I've had one of those early end on me too. This opty has been solid on all the other proteins, even while gaming in dod source for free this weekend. IMO, nothing stresses my system more than gaming while folding because of the memory requirements being higher and a ton of extra heat generated by my 7800GT.

 
Try priming for more than 6 hours. I've had errors come up after say 12 hours before. Also, are you sure that your memory is completely stable. As you said, "...nothing stresses my system more than gaming while folding because of the memory requirements being higher-" might want to stest the mem again, do a few passes of Memtest.

In the OP, I said I ran Prime, Memtest, and FS2004 for 60+ hours.

It was ending Gromacs units early too, as well as a bunch of tinkers.

Hmm, looks like that core has only been getting 23xx projects, would also explain the random early unit ends on the other core from time to time too. =\

Do they have a Memtest that runs within windows?

FS2004 is a game, it's a flight simulator. In my experience, FS will tell you beyond a doubt if a computer is stable or not, even if Prime or Memtest says differently. FS stresses the cache, CPU, RAM, HTT or FSB (aka chipset), and video subsystems.

I wasn't offended, just don't want misinformation in the thread. ;)
