Hi guys.. I'm not really all that great with hardware but I think I know most of the basics. I have a 2nd comp that I figured I would start using again and dust collected inside all over. I took the video card out, ram out, fan out, and I cleaned all over the whole comp. I used one of those hand compressed air things. Now that I popped back in the ram and all the other parts my computer doesn't work. Isn't that great? I'm thinking that I didn't pop the ram in the correct direction or way. When I turn the comp on my screen doesn't re-act and my computer just keeps beeping? Any ideas guys? Also where can I can some safty things like an antistatic wrist strap. Something cheap please.

What motherboard and what is the beep code ....like one long beep or 3 short beeps...something like that...

Do the black squares on the fan face the heatsink? Or does it go the otherway?

If we cannot see your fan, we obviously don't know what "black squares" you are talking about.

im pretty sure it is all in completly.. im going to take some pictures now.. ill post them in a bit

if it's just doing beeps, 99% of the time either the memory or video card isn't completely seated.

reseat both of them, making sure the clips are secure
