I think upgrading the memory in my system (see sig) would benefit me a lot. What speed should I look at for my current config and for future upgrade options? PC3200/PC3500? I haven't been in this forum for a while so I'm a bit out of the loop as far as what's going on. I noticed UT2004 seemed to want more memory and the map load times are kind of long with my current amount of ram. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

I just happened to thing that maybe the video card needs replacing as well. Geez, I hate getting to the upgrade point where more than one thing needs changing.

you should notice a nice difference in speed with a 3.0c and some new ram. 3.0c's are around the $220 range now, and well...ram depends on what you get and where. but a gig will run you at least $200 for somewhat decent ram.

well maybe im wrong but you might be ok with another stick of Ram and a new "NV40" for another year :)

I'd agree with that too...as long as you overclocked that 2.4b higher. No offense, but a 2.4 running at 2.53 is kinda whimpy. It should do at least 2.9-3.0. I was lucky and had a 2.4b that would do 3.3 on default voltage.

No offense taken, I know it's wimpy but the current memory isn't helping. I've had it cranked to 2.9 but the memory bombed. I'll pick up 1GB of PC3500 and just get rid of the PC2100.

Will definitely keep the NV40 advice in mind;)

Thanks,
Kip

well hmm 2.9 is 160-161 fsb? i take it your MB has a 1-1 divider?
how about a 4/5? that is what i use ;) pc3200t hat runs nice TIGHT settings. would work real well PC3500 might be a touch overkill for that 2.4b
