Hey, I'm building a new computer with a 3800+ (F3) stepping that I was hoping to O/C to around 3 GHZ. So I bought a Tuniq tower HS/F... but I wasnt aware of the crap mounting system that they provide for AM2 processors until after I had already lapped it, unfortunately. It's just a clip. A tinyass clip securing a bigass tuniq tower. This thing slips and slides around the processor at just a slight bump. I have no idea what to do. Should I keep it on? I cant tell if its even making full contact with my processor. With this clip, I kinda doubt it.

It's in an upright case so its not like gravity helps or anything. So far the temps look okay, around 22c idle, or atleast thats what the bios tells me. But I'm not so sure how well it's going to fare when this baby is under a 50% overclock??

Advice, please :(

edit: im using AS5

I don't like the sound of a 1 kilogram cooler slipping and sliding around, while only supported by a mere clip. If I were you, I'd use the AMD stock heatsink just for peace of mind.

If you did a good job lapping, there will probably be lots of people interested in buying it, and you could use the money to buy a cooler with proper AM2 mounting hardware.

Thermalright FTW. I have the HR01 and it is very cheap. If you look around you can find for no more than 40 including shipping.

Take that for what it's worth. It also hold on tight.
