Turns on, memory light says on. I hold it down, it blinks for a bit as it tries to configure, view back to solid red. Tried with both sticks in, then just one (tried both in both dimm a slots).24 pin atx and both 4 pins (in the 8 slots) are in. Seriously frustrated. Have reseated the RAM a ton of times. Don't really like that only 1 side snaps in on this board. Maybe I'm seating it wrong? Thoughts? Help!

Edit: if I go with no RAM I get a long beep followed by two short ones, repeated. That's the no memory code. The problem has to be RAM related, computer wouldn't even stay powered on if, for example, the CPU wasn't seated correctly, right?

I figured it out. You'd think after so many years I'd be able to seat RAM correctly. Now I just have to figure out how to overclock on my Asus P8P67. Is there actually any way to turn off turbo boost any more? Or will your cpu always throttle down to ~ 1.6 ghz?

For instance, why does my bios show my CPU ratio range as only 16-33. Clearly I'm doing something wrong here.

"Overclocking Sandy Bridge CPUs is different in another way, too. While everyone has their own overclocking techniques, I generally like to disable "turbo" features and run all processor cores as fast as I can under stress by raising the base multiplier. Well, you can't do this with the Intel Core i7-2600K: in fact, you can't increase the base multiplier at all! I suspect this limitation is built into either the processor or the P67 chipset. Your only option is to increase the multiplier that will be used by Turbo Boost, and you can set individual multipliers to be used when 1, 2, 3, or all 4 cores are in use. Thus, if you disable Turbo Boost technology, you can't overclock the processor at all. "

The throttle down feature works as advertised and should help the CPU last longer.

OCing the Asus Deluxe. Same for the Pro and probably the rest with the new menu.
