READ IT, ITS WORTH YOUR TIME!

http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=828113

I just read that entire thing.... and it all seems to make sence. In a technical sence, by the way everything in that article said, you will NEVER know what monitor is good based simply off of its "technical" specs without seeing a full readout of what it is capable of.

It said they report the response time based on one factor, which makes us oblivious to what the monitor would actually produce in terms of dynamic images such as games and movies.

The contrast ratio on most of the LCDs was said to be "emulated", where basicly we are getting jewed into buying a 200:1, or even 100:1, contrast ratio because it can "emulate" up to 500:1.

The viewing angles are based on MAXIMUM viewable distortion, rather than any type of distortion at all which is what everyone would assume.

The different panel types are understandable... yet VERY confusing at the same time. Im going to study this article.

WTFBBQ. Im afraid to buy an LCD now... I have no idea what to get. ARG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez... those profiteering idiot lcd salesmen are nutballs... but what do you expect in a capitalist economy where everyone wants as much money for as little work as is possible... *snort*

As opposed to a communist economy where everyone gets the same thing regardless of work.

yes this is why you should alwatys try to use the LCD you want to bu first and read reviews about them rather than tech specs

anandtech.com
xbitlabs.com
tomshardwareguide.com

all have decent reviews.
