This happens to be a Gigabyte Z97X-U5DH running Win7-64bit but I think it can be a general problem associated with UEFI bios. In the bios or boot options, it can not see my optical drives. Suggestions to fix this?

As far as I know, if your DRW does not have any OS DVD 64 bits it will not be detected.
Process:
1. Install first your DVD OS disk on the DVD drive then restart and enter bios again, you will see the DVD drive.
2. Then select boot option to Boot to UEFI DVD or DVD.
