I recently installed Windows 8.1 but also just found out if you install as UEFI your bootup is faster. Can anyone attest to this? Is it worth it to re-install? It already boots pretty quick but moar fast woulds be nice ;) Thanks.

if you have correct hardware, yes.

if you have a uefi bios on your mobo, youll get a boost.

If you have a UEFI bios on your GPU, youll get another boost.

It is indeed faster. On my Asus P9X79 WS, with Windows 8.1 (well, 2012 R2 Server, but almost identical) installed in UEFI mode and Fast Boot enabled, and my GPU having a UEFI bios (GTX 780), my POST is about as fast as a blink of the eye, like literally less than a second. Takes another 5-6 seconds for Windows to load, on a cheap non-high end Intel 520 SSD. That Z87 Sabertooth should get similar performance, so if that's worth a re-install to you, you should go for it (as mentioned, make sure your GPU has a UEFI bios, or it might not be any faster, dunno for sure.)
