Well, I've been having problems with installing Ubuntu on my system and I thought I'd post here to see if anyone could help me out (this is basically a repost from the Ubuntu forums since they didn't respond as fast as I thought they would).
Hi. Got a old computer (P2 200 MHz 64? (64 or less) MB of RAM a 7 GB HDD and a 32X CD-ROM) and decided to install Ubuntu on it to try Linux out. Anyway, I have already tried to install Ubuntu several times on this computer but it kept failing and gave me the same error. Well, I decided to try it again anyway and now I'm just going to post what the message says to me (btw this machine is NOT connected to the internet so I am not sure if you need to be to finish the installation):

Debootsrap Error
Couldn't retrieve base-config. It may be due to a network problem or a bad CD depending on your installation method. If you are installing from a CD-R or CD-RW, try burning the CD at a lower speed.

Failed to install the base system
The base system installation into /target/ failed. Check /var/log/messages or see virtual console 3 for the details.
Installation step failed
An installation step failed. You can try to run the failing step again blah blah blah... (Too lazy to type the rest but I think you get it). The failing step was: Setup users and password.
Btw, I'm using a CD from this site (I ordered 5 for an Intel system and tried almost all of them so I'm sure that the CD isn't bad). So if anyone can help me I would REALLY appreciate it since I getting annoyed beyond what I can usually endure with PC errors
As you can see I'm pretty frustrated so far as to why I'm missing any files or why the installation won't proceed any further so any help would be appreciated.
