Ubuntu help

I'm starting to show a sudden interest in the OS but all I've ever used was windows. So I'm asking if I would be able to use it with my knowledge which is about a 5.0/10 on tech know how. And if I do it will all my files and everything transer. Basically what im looking for is general knowledge of the system and etc.

*EDIT* I also have ALOT of games on steam can I install all of those in unbuntu and i plan on not doing a dual boot.

In regards to games, you should use WINE and/or PlayOnLinux. There are more robust apps as well but they need to be purchased.

Before you do anything drastic I'd recommend you try out Ubuntu under VirtualBox for awhile, just so that you're familiar with it before hand. If you've already done this, then you're good to go

Try OpenSUSE, its way better.

all of the Call of dutys work fine under wine. all you do is.

"sudo cd /home/luca/" or where ever you have the call of duty file is( THIS WHERE I

HAVE MINE)

"ls" to check if the file is there and the last thing is use wine

"wine callofduty" or whatever the file is called
