Ubuntu dropping GNOME for Unity

I just installed Unity on my laptop to take a look... it's evolved quite a bit since I last used it on a netbook, but I'm still not really impressed. I mean, this isn't that big of deal "sudo apt-get install gdm" and fixed.. but I don't know.. maybe I just can't stand change.
 
Yikes Ola.

Too much too fast. Just got 10.10 working pretty well.
The issues I'm seeing that sometimes the "updates" that comes several a week make the system less stable. Last kernel update and now I seem to have lockup problems. (NEVER did that before)
