It's a Unity-fied Gnome 3. Yay?
In all seriousness though I did load it up for a bit yesterday. It's not bad. I hate Unity though so the Unity like theme on Gnome 3 kills me. At least they give you a way to launch stock Gnome 3.
Overall it's a pretty solid release for Ubuntu and they made a lot of nice additions especially with the huge change 17.10 is with Unity being killed off. 18.04 LTS is shaping up to be quite a nice upgrade for LTS users.
