Ubuntu 12

So far I'm liking it since I tossed Unity which is still complete crap. I'm using Cinnamon instead. Just wish it was as fast as my old Arch Linux install. It's definitely slower then Arch is, then again it also has ten times the bloat compared to my very slim Arch install. ;)

I installed it on release day. I also ditched Unity as quickly as possible, running Cinnamon now instead.

No major hassles that are new.

I've installed it now (I had Fedora 16 LXDE running perfectly) and haven't had any issues yet. Seems faster and less CPU usage (and fans blowing) than the previous version.

Tried it on my AMD based desktop and its unusably slow.... like, it hangs when I try to do anything that depends on IO.... no idea why....

Great in a virtual machine tho....

Installed earlier this week. It's nice, very nice.

I'm thinking about installing it on another partition any suggestions for media players (music, movies, etc)?

The default music player is pretty good. For video playback I use VLC.

Got my first problem. Installed GIMP 2.8, Cinnamon stability went to hell.

I've been using xubuntu since beta 1. Cinnamon and unity are unsatisfactory. Xubuntu is great, however.

I have always like xubuntu, or even kubuntu. I run a couple servers on 12.04 right now, (cli only) and it seems to be good enough. Some server apps aren't ported over yet though.

I preferred KDE for some time, but even that has lost it's way.

Xubuntu/Xfce are also my choice for desktop. Hope it doesn't also get bloated and weird.
