im sorry, never owned liquid cooling but im thinking about it...

but how do you get below ambient cooling? how is it done? and can it be done for under $200?

this thing, is it cool enough to handel a graphics card too? can it handle two graphics cards? will it offer more ocing head room on say, a 7900GTX with stock cooling (with say... an X2 5000+ as CPU core)?

Alienware hooked one of these things up to their 7950GX2 waterblocks. but those 7950GX2s run stock clock speeds. looks to me like alienware just wanting to be able to brag about something.

anywho thanks a bundle to anyone who replies.

you use a bong cooler [4 foot piece of 4 " pvc with fans blowing thrugh it to cause some water to evaporate] or a a/c unit [here]
do not buy that!!! it's like thermaltake, a crappy version of the real thing
and don't be sorry, everybody has to start somewhere, hell, i'm 12 it's just that i got into computers when i was 5 and could build a working one at 6 with no help, just read a lot and you will get good at it too
oops, i thought you were new to the forums, youve posted more than me!! :)

Bong + UV aquarium light + modded 6002 + pump + 400 watt TEC + homemade power supply = teh easiest setup.

Horrible on the power bill, but you can assemble it for under $200.

I just want to know how often you have to refill your bong, and what temps you get with that. Haven't heard of a bong + peltier setup before, and also what did you do to mod your 6002? Sorry for going OT.

I'd modify an airconditioning unit or a phase change setup to cool a fluid with a high antifreeze content... Then, have a strong ass pump moving the cooled fluid around.

Or get a phase change cooler.

i think the most important question is "will it offer more ocing head"? i havent seen much on barly below ambient overclocking. i would think there would be a middle ground where temps didn't mean a whole lot. from like 10-25C i dont think you would see much improvment. it is not like moveing from 30-55 or 40-65
