im going to be doing an uber borg (pics later this month)

should i do Folding@Home? i dunno becuase this borg needs to be as hands off as possible...

also is there a way to "lock" the folding config file? to prevent some little kiddies from changing it to another username?

anything else you guys would deem helpful? :D
 
Honestly, I would put it on UD. The client is rock stable, then just firedaemon it, and no one would know that it is there. You would also be able to manage it from the web remotely.

I have never had a lock-up, or anything remotely like that with UD.
 
Do what you think is best. If I suggest something, and you do it and don't fully believe in it; then it wont be the same as if you picked which distributed research program for the borg. I understand that you want a hands off program to be running, but remember that if you really believe in a program you should probably go with it, whether it's slightly unstable or not.

Since your about to kick my butt anyway;) I'd just hide the folding folders. Run it as a service etc, make it painless as possible of course. With the new core I have had no problems, yet.

Looks like plext is back, so our lead in folding could go away fast:rolleyes:

well i have an install script that i made that im going to be using that hides it deep within the windows folder... so hopefully that should keep prying eyes away...

also this borg could easily pass 1Thz so i think i will be passing a few people :D

Well, on our team there's only 11 people to pass. However, in the grand scale, you've got 48 super-folders ahead of you. Most of us are already in your dust.
