The only way to get 2560x1600 out of an XPS 1640 is to use DisplayPort since the HDMI port is limited to 1080p.
Fine.
Problem is, it doesn't work. I always get "Link failure detected" when the display connects to the computer. I'm using the DisplayPort cable that came with the monitor (Dell-branded).
Here's where it gets interesting: If I reboot the laptop with the monitor attached, the Windows boot sequence shows up on the U3014! As soon as Windows finishes booting though, back to black.
Any ideas?
