Does anyone here have a busted u2711? mine needs a new power board, does anyone know either where I can find one, or anyone here got a busted u2711 they can get the power board from, I'd pay for shipping to the UK and for the component?

Mine does the following and I was wondering if I may be able to fix it myself. Turns on, there's a whistling sound and the DELL logo appears, the whistling goes quieter (but is still there) and the screen itself goes black with no faint image but the buttons still beep and react. Turning the monitor off and back on yields the same result minus the DELL logo
 
Don't those monitors have a ~5 year warranty?

Call dell and see what they can do (if it's still under warranty).

Edit: Looks like it's 3 years..
