I am not to much of a n00b to OCing I did have my 1700+ running at 1.87Ghz but droped down to cooling problems. But what I wanted to know is..... Does the type of RAM u have matter? I have right now 512MB of Crucial PC2700. And in order to get to my system running when I was OCing (which I had it OCed for a very long time but my room were I keep it can get quite hot at times) I would boost up the voltage on my RAM. Now are there brands out there that respond better to having there voltages changed?

More or less what I want to know is what is a good brand of RAM to OC with Mushkin? Corsair? Geil?

Thx

Everybody has their favorite brands, mine is Corsair. The ones I see talked about a lot on these forums are:

Corsair
Crucial
Mushkin
OCZ
Patriot

All of these are high quality and should get you a good overclock. If you are looking to get really extreme, it all comes down to the luck of the draw, and the exact chips that end up on your sticks of RAM.
