I noticed where my worm clamps clamps to my barbs that there is some "cracks"

Its looks as though its like stress cracks. Can tubing Crack? I am concerned. Has anyone noticed this on their tubing? Maybe i tightened to much and now the pressure and heat is expanding the tubing and making it crack around that area...

Please help.

What kind of additives are you using?

Many people have reported that particular types of additives crack, discolor, harden, etc hoses and res's. If it ain't leaking it's still okay, you may just want to bleed the system, replace the cracked hoses, and change additives.

distilled water and anti freeze. I am so worried its gonna leak. Its not leaking now, but its such a hassle to take everything apart. I have only noticed the cracks, its small ones at the hose clamp area.

Can it crack all the way through?

Crack all the way through. Yup. I've had to replace radiator hoses in my car becuase they'd become so cracked they leaked (okay, actually more "wept" or "sweated" or "bled" or something).

Are the cracks above the clamp inline or below the clamp on the part that extends past the clamp over the fitting/barb?

cracks are right above the clamps. They are small. ~1-2mm in length. About 3 cracks on one barb, and 1 on the other. Its been running 24/7 and the loop is only 2 months old. I only see cracks on 2 areas, which is going to my radiator. The in and out of the radiator. I have notice no other cracks on any other clamp areas.

cracks/clamp/radiator.

I just double checked my watercooled test rig which has been running 24/7 for the last 4 months. I'm using distilled water, that pinky-purpley Zerex stuff, and some food color... no cracks near the worm-drive clamps, no cracks near the C-clamps, no cracks near the compression fittings.

Not really sure what to tell you... after that short of a time you shouldn't be having problems like that. I'd consider replacing the fluid... something's not right.

Yeah i did clamp down pretty tight cause this was my first build and i was real paranoid. I think i will just leave it for a bit and check on the cracks here and there to see if they get worse. If they do, then i will just drain it and cut off the ends and stick it back on. I don't think i will have to remove the whole system.

Ok, i am just way to paranoid and i am going to take apart my loop today(sunday).

Since i am using Preston Antifreeze with distilled water currently and noticing cracks. I don't know if its from the tighting of the clamps or the coolant mixture.

Anyone want to recommened me a ratio of this anti freeze to water. I have all copper in my system except for maybe the barbs on my TDX blocks which look like steel.

I don't want to have these cracks appear less than 6 months to a year again.

Nickel-plated "something", but definitly not a worry in terms of corrosion
