I went to mcmaster-carr and under tygon i found 1/2ID 3/4OD tygon tubing to be only .38 cents per foot. Yet at other sites the tubing is 3.89 per foot am I maybe looking at the wrong type? because this seems a bit off.

Go to homedepot and buy some tubing there. I spent around .60 a foot there. I just dont think there is a reason to spent 5x more for tygon unless it dropped temps, which it doesnt :D

I like tygon, it doesn't seem to cloud up as fast, andd is a softer tubing, which is a bit easier to install....but it is so darn costly. I use home depot vinyl myself...have to since Tygon does not play well with swiftech push-fittings. Might try clearflex next time around.

I used to think the same thing until i tried it (clearflex 60, i can only assume tygon is BETTER). Totally worth the cost (at least of clearflex, IMO)

OK my tygon just arrived. I had clearflex60 before and it gets the job done. But it has that blueish tint and does not seem to be totaly clear. the tygon is crystal clear and i cant wait to put my ccfl in. ill post pics later

guys, i dont see why yall pay that much for tubing. I got my tubing from a local hardware store for $0.49 a foot. Its silicon braded 1/2 ID and 5/8 OD. Pics below. (Also carried at Lowes and Home Depot)

Have you tried making small-radius bends with that stuff? It's impossible to get it to bed as tightly as good tubing can without kinking.

I also found that braided tubing at homedepot to be very unforgiving in making bends. If you plan on using 90deg elbows in your configuration than this would be good tubing..

MY reason for going tygon was the Clear factor tygon is Clear, while my clearflex60 had a blueish tint.

For bend radius i would try Masterkleer. Its clear, and is supposed to have a really great bendradius for .58 a foot.

I tried the sh*t tubing from HD and Lowes. Turned all sorts of colors after a few months and got hard and nasty. Tygon has been running fine for a year with no problems at all, and still mostly clear. Could use a dusting :p

i can bend it into a horseshoe and it's fine. The brading is what helps with the kinking. I make a good turn from my GPU to the CPU no problems at all and with slack to spare.

Yah, but what's the bend radius? I tried using some of that on a small (like 2") radius bend and it put a lot of stress on the block it was attached to and also kinked a little bit. I think its main disadvantage is its stiffness. But if it works for your application, it sure is a helluva lot cheaper to use than Tygon or Clearflex.

yeah thats true. It just fits my system great. I dont see why anyone would want to make such a small, small bend because just about any tubing so small would create a great amount of stiffness. The stiffness in mine (lol) holds everything in real tight (lol x 2) and works great for me. I dont have alot of distance as far as tubing in my rig anyways, so it works out well.

Man! I thought for a second there you had peanuts in your res!

What tubing is the best for small radius bends?

Tygon can handle the small radius bends fine. I have some 3/8" ID 5/8" OD and even with the 1/4" thick walls it can still bend like crazy without kinking or collapsing. I'm talking 180 degree bends in like 2-3 inch diameter.
