Hello,

I want to buy a second parallel LCD for my system. Is there a way to wire it so both work?

you can do this if you have a pair of displays 4x20 or smaller... buy wiring each display to the 8 data lines, but using different lines for the write line on the lcd... then the software would have to choose which display to write to, and send it the data, switch displays, send data

it is possible... this is how 4x40 displays work (they are essentially two 4x20 displays... or was is 2x40 displays... either way they have two HD44780 controllers...)

you would probably have to write your own software for this one tho

or if you got a PCI slot you can spare you can get like a $5 parallel card

Theres also a way i fiddled around with a long time ago.

Use the R/W line to switch a seperate circuit to fire a different enable line, one for each LCD. Your software also needs to know what the hell is going on, which means you'll have to write your own.

It's alot more trouble than its worth.

I gave my brother my old Radeon 7800 and he used that with his GeForce4 to do duel moniters. The Geforce was APG and the Radeon was PCI.

Actually, that's a completely different subject. They're talking about LCD displays such as the ones located here.

The dual parallel set up would really be a pain, you'd be better off with a serial or usb interface. (Assuming you can still hook up two displays.)
