Two OS on one HDD?

I just installed windows XP on a spare IDE harddrive I had, and yes, finally got my computer working, then ran around the house screaming because I was so happy. Now to the point-I completely formated the hard drive I used to install XP, and I thought that erased all previous OS on that harddrive. I booted up after I installed XP and I have a choice of two OS? It seems like the same choice. Its not really an error, it just bothers me (I have OCD) and really want to get this thing sorted out so the XP I want to use just boots up instead of me having to choose. Should I just use one of those harddrive deletion programs and install again or is there another way I could do this?

Thanks,
Relentless
